Where's Wil?

My beloved's memories are even richer — to get any idea of how they lived:
A BBC documentary by none other than the enfant terrible Ken Russell

Bruce and his (equally eccentric) wife Pat threw parties, like the Ghost Party in a London fog, when Bruce laid a trail of toilet paper from the house to the Tube station at the top of the road, and cut out a section of the first floor to do a 'vanishing act' which famously happened inopportunely when he forgot and walked across the carpet ... or the bonfire night when, dressed in his Victorian fireman's jacket, he jumped over the bonfire in the garden, forgetting he'd stuffed his pockets with fireworks, and so become the centre of an impromptu display ... a cowboy part involved knocking down an internal wall so he could fit swinging saloon doors like in the 'pictures' (movies) ...

Pat worked. She was the definition of work. She was still working in her 90s. She started as a junior in a firm of accountants, trained herself and qualified (why does a woman need to qualify?'), went freelance ('But you have a family!') and when she separated from her errant husband, borrowed off banks, friends and neighbours to buy a house for £30k — against every good advice. The house was a double-fronted Victorian monstrosity, and became a home for waifs and strays. It was valued at its peak in excess of £4m, and being in a state of utter disrepair, was sold for £2m after she died.

Absolutely awesome, I will show to my kids so they know themselves lucky!

Is your bride one of the children shown? And I like the term 'fancy dress' for costume or cosplay as the kids say today.

Yep. Bruce and Pat had split by the time we got together. Pat was living in her Victorian pile. Bruce was artist-janitor at an arts-space in Hackney. I visited a couple of times. My best memory was the brick on the toilet seat necessary to stop the rats ...

The first time I met him, I was at a party at Pat's. I was on my best behaviour. He was wearing a six-foot rubber chicken outfit ...

It has been a year since the incident... They say another year before I see the new normal but progress seems to have slowed, ceased, or starting to retreat... All in all it is interesting to watch...as an 'interested' observer.

What percentage of pre-incident wil are you at currently?

Other than the recent dizziness, vertigo I guess it might be. I can do just about everything...just not as much of it. I tire easily...getting downstairs, fixing breakfast, starting laundry...that requires a nap, as does going grocery shopping, doctors appointments, Another nap. Lol,.don't forget anything when you go upstairs and down, because if you gotta go back up you'll be winded for 10-15 min.

Even thinking, any level of serious thought or computation and contemplation, I'll need to lay down right here.

Plus side, I can sleep on cold metal floor of a rental truck!

I'm glad that you're at least able to do just about everything, although I can only begin to imagine the exhaustion side of things. I'm guessing that the naps aren't short ones in between, either?

Naps are usually between 1 and 4 hours.. Not a problem unless I have a doctors appt because I have not cluttered my schedule, lol.

It is interesting working with what may be my new normal. I've had weddings to attend and headed out camping or 'hiking' with friends...I can sleep away long car rides, go 1/8 to 1/4 of a hike, hang a hammock in the trees and my friends wake me on their way back.

My issues are so minor compared to so many... I grateful for whatever additional time I spend and find the observation of my issues interesting.

Two weeks without @wil
Starting to worry ...
