I dont mind if it gets moved. My main concern with it is if science is playing God by messing with Gods creation and creating life. If it gets stuck in a secular forum i doubt i will follow along.

Shades of Jurrasic Park issues may be out there but the same argument was used against open heart surgery, heart transplants and will be used as we create organs from cloning stem cells I don't think we ever know the outcome of progress or what is progress vs fear of unknown or unpredictable outcomes.

Bishop Milton Wright, father of the Wright brothers, and delivered in a sermon after a German glider pioneer crashed in 1896, expressing his concerns about his sons' fascination with flight.

In his sermon, he used the phrase "If God had meant man to fly, he'd have given him wings" to express his view that humans were not meant to fly, as God would have provided them with wings if that was the case.

Me? In essence any belief I have in a higher power includes its presence in all creation.

I am not of a belief that we don't use doctors or modern inventions...

Stem cells are a completely different ethical concern especially when taken from embryos.

  • Embryos:
Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) are derived from the inner cell mass of a blastocyst, a stage in early embryonic development.

  • Source:
These stem cells are obtained from embryos donated by consenting individuals or couples after in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures.

    Ethical Considerations:
The use of embryonic stem cells raises ethical concerns due to the destruction of the embryo.

If we dont see the potential of ethics abuse in creating a species from manipulating genomes.. how far can this go? It rings of a tower of babel situation or the manipulation of DNA in the creation of nephilim.

Every time they implant a herd of embryos trying to make fertile an infertile couple the vast majority of the embryos are destructed.

Again...a spot that divides the ultra religious aborting half a dozen to attempt to create one.

Well thats a jacked up statement. Jesus warned us that the world would hate us because they hated Him first. Your opinions on Christians speaks volumes.

I made no mention of Christians, but am interested to hear which ofJesus's words you feel address this topic.

Are you saying artificial insemination has no discussion as to its moral implications (the aborting vast numbers of embryos?

I thought that was the discussion? Man playing G!d? Bringing life where it would not naturally occur?

The cattle industry uses this science regularly. Also used in horses but banned in thorobreds, they must be "made naturally" with man playing matchmaker but not G!d.

Is maintaining existing breeds and bloodlines that far different from resurrecting an extinct breed?

You're deflecting. This post on the Christian forum posted by a Christian.. who would logically be the "ultra religious" you are referring to?

Try researching what this group did to create the dire wolves. They took DNA from fossils and filled in missing DNA with grey wolf DNA. This wasnt simple breeding. How you brought aborted embryos into the conversation is not where i was trying to go with this conversation.

As a GOT fan, I'm exhilarated by the Dire Wolves returning.

But if scientists try to bring back neanderthals or other humanoid species, I won't feel right about that.

Actually, apparently this whole story is more marketing than substance - that what they actually did was try to engineer existing wolf DNA for some of the characteristics they believed dire wolves had. There's apparently no Jurassic Park involved,

Thats why I think its a false flag.

A "false flag" operation is a deliberately planned ruse where a state or group makes it appear as if it has been attacked by another party, often to justify military action or domestic repression, by blaming an opponent for an attack they staged themselves.

Therein lies my confusion..the srticle stated it all, the headlines (as usual) were titillating and misleading to get people to read it.

Obviously not one, but all who argue against abortion yet for invitro fertilization which causes many abortions.

I as well am more of a follower of Christ than any other belief system...more beatitudes than ten commandments, more NT, than OT...

Ok false flag is the wrong term.. but i believe its definitely a distraction.

You accept the blessings but not the consequences? Ok.

I think this is very dangerous.
Sorry I left Facebook cause there's too much rubbish and data grabbing in it. I can't comment on the video because I have not seen it, so I can only answer on the inputs here.

I agree that this is problematic, even if those cells would not become a human anyway because the parents would not have more children. Opinions may differ on this, but I tend to see this as disrespectful.
For cell therapy, which is used in medical treatment , e.g. after healing leukemia, scientists have found methods to produce stem cells that are less programmed than mature cells from other cells from the same person, which has even a medical advantage. I support that progress in medical science as ethical.

That's a second topic. Creating new or manipulated species is opening Pandora's box.
A Muslim Hadith supposed to go back to Muhammad says,
Aishah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned once from a journey, and saw a curtain which I had hung along a platform with some pictures on it. The colour of his face changed. He tore it up and said, "O 'Aishah, the most tormented people on the Day of Resurrection are those who contend with Allah in terms of creation".
We are like Goethe's Sorcerer's Apprentice in face of God's creation, we can create, but we have no clue what would happen, and we are unable to undo it.
I don't think that pictures do any harm, it's rather a visionary admonition, and it has become important now.
