It's an interesting commentary ... I don't accept all of it, but anti-semitism was and is a fact, and a deplorable one.
Agree ... would love to hear from
@RabbiO this interpretation...
The portion discussing other messiah over the years rings true with what I have heard from.jewish friends...'there were a lot of prophets back then and many who claimed messiah '
And then there are the number of mentions in the holy Quran.... I feel each abrahamjc religion honors Jesus in their own understanding.
I myself have never come to believe all the words or actions or deeds or happenings to or around that are attribjted Jesus are 100% accurate or that they were all said/done/happened to the same person.
I find it interesting this interpretation which indicates the opposite...that the historical Jesus is represented by more than one in the books.
The abrahamic beliefs differ in their interpretation of who Jesus was/is as do the offshoots that have followed as do I.
My current thoughts still are ...I don't know. But what I do know is I like a lot of the words and quotes attributed to the man and can use them to better my life and my relationships with others.
What I like about Easter is the same thing I like about Christmas...another opportunity to look at the life and words of Jesus, another opportunity for the christ mind to grow in my mind through his words. Another opportunity for them to be born again in my mind and the only begotten to be continually begotten in us.
I believe the abrahamic religions themselves, their numbers their longevity in time lend credence to the value of the words and saying and actions alone, whether one sees him as the messiah, a prophet or even as many Hindu temples a guru...
and as a person who was purported to have said these words was purported to have been born and raised Jewish it lends credence to the value of those teachings as well....and his words are risen in me again.
