Hi everyone,
I’m new here and still finding my way around, so if I posted this in the wrong section, feel free to move it — and sorry in advance!

I’m getting married soon and was wondering if anyone here has ever used palmistry or hand reading before a big life decision like marriage? I’m curious about whether it can offer any meaningful insights, especially about compatibility or the future.

I’ve seen a few websites and apps that claim to do AI-based palm readings too. Has anyone tried those? Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences!

Thanks so much 🙏

Hi, welcome.
Intriguing question.
During my couple of years here I haven't seen very many posts about this type of thing, so I'm not sure if any current members are knowledgeable about this. I could be wrong though.
You've probably already done a google search for information?
Is this something new to you?
If so, where did you learn of it and its possible relationship to decision making?

I’m new to this. I’ve seen many people do this kind of thing before marriage, in business relationships, etc.

So I’m curious about it — what is it exactly? I’m here to connect with more people who might know about it.
By the way, English is not my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.

palmistry, where someone reads a person’s hand — the lines, shapes, etc. — to predict their future.

Hello and welcome. I am happy to see a Muslim joining this site.

As to your question: no, you should not recur to palmistry. According to sunnah, it is forbidden.
It is better to be there where you are at any time and try to be righteous before God. He will guide you.
Besides, I don't believe that there is any information in the lines of the hands, and whatever someone tells you has no base, but even if you don't really believe it, it may shape your thoughts. Better abstain.

So if you don't know what it is and are looking for really basic, fundamental information, you could look it up and read about it. I don't know if anybody here is knowledgeable about it.

At a quick web search, here is an encyclopedia article

Here is the Wikipedia entry Palmistry - Wikipedia

And a YouTube channel by an astrologer and palmistry practitioner

This practice and related practices have long traditions in some cultures, and may be well regarded in those cultures, but are considered pseudoscience or mere superstition by many in modern times, and are regarded as divination and frowned upon in Abrahamic traditions, as pointed out by @talib-al-kalim

I think many traditional believers in Abrahamic faiths would reject these ideas out of hand due to the scriptural material forbidding divination. Some traditional believers in Abrahamic faiths may even consider them dangerous or demonic, though that may be a matter of interpretation and then of course in non-Abrahamic faiths there are an array of opinions on practices like this.
