Hi everyone!!

I just joined this forum today because a friend referred me here. I've heard some good things about this site, so I look forward to a lot of insightful discussions, and I hope to find what I'm looking for here.
I won't put you all to sleep with a life story here, but I would like to tell a little about myself and where I'm at in my walk of faith.
I was raised in a christian household, but never accepted Christ until a few years ago. But over the past couple years, I have been wondering things...why do I believe what I do, how can I be sure and so on. Basically, what happened was that the more I learn about my christian heritage, not only the history but the origins and such, the further away I am pushed from it.
Right now, I am at the point where I WANT to believe my christian upbringing is everything it claims to be, but I have a very hard time actually believing it. It also doesn't help that I am not a very big fan of organized religions to begin with. I am hoping that I will learn a lot here, and find some desperately needed answers.

Welcome to the forum. You are not alone in your turmoil. As we gain in understanding we all get to spend some time in the wilderness. Paul said 'I die daily' Some of the information we received in our youth, like our clothes, don't fit the adult that is growing in spirit. Just know that when we were children they left a lot out, gave us the cliff note versions with pictures...we didn't get the whole story, nor the intrigue or politics, some of which many aren't ready for now.

The carpet gets pulled out from under us on a regular basis until we understand that it isn't about the carpet. It is about developing a stronger connnection during the fall, and learning to stand back up....life is one big parable to learn from and it is good!
