How to get out of Debt

You, just did! Why buy a new car when you can buy an older car that has all the bugs worked out by the first owners, and the actual value of the car has settled to a reasonable price (instead of a brand new car losing 25 to 30% in value as it rolls off the dealer's lot)?

i know that now... but you would have never convinced me 5 years ago. i had to be Mr Yuppy in a new corvette every 3 years. that $900 a month lease was my pride & joy:eek: . though i called it the company car--- oh what foolish things i have done. you will never know how much catching up i have had to do.
play now pay later. lucky i caught myself before it was too late.

my friend i was telling you about with the 7-11 stores...he would just shake his head and call me 'stupid'. boy, was he ever right:D

Oh, and look! 145 people have checked this thread out, so far. See they want to know, and now they do. They have the where for all and see they have the control to get out of debt in a healthy way, without undue hardship, or strife, or paying anyone for the advise. It is there for the taking, All they got to do is want it bad enough to act...

Good for them! Good for all of us! ;)

Here is another important thing I've learned about Mortagages. You Cannot be LATE! Not by one day. If you are, then all the principal you expected to pay for that month is eaten up by interest. And They are happy if you do miss that pay date...more money for the mortgage company.

things to ponder.

Kindest Regards, Q!

Great thread!

You might want to point out a new law about late payments to credit cards...not only does the rate go up on the card you pay late, but your other cards can also raise their rates too even though you paid them on time. Nasty little catch clause a lot of people miss.

Oooh, that is a nasty sneaky clause. Thank you for pointing it out.

Another pet peeve of mine is how every store has its own credit card and every time you check out they ask you, sometimes a couple times, if you want one. Are you sure you don't want one? After all, you'll save 10% on this purchase (on a $5.00 package of socks) if you fill out the credit application today!

LOL! ...I'll shock you and tell you my gross salary is $800/month!!...
I have TONS of debt - mostly due my parents not having any savings at all, no medical insurance, no back up plan at all!...that ate up all my savings AND then I lost my job, so I had to start using plastic!!...
I'm glad to report that now I've closed most of the accounts and, am still working hard on getting the last 3 closed down!
God has been great to me and, in a couple of months I'll be moving on to a new job that pays about 2x what I'm making now, so I expect to be debtless by New Year's 2007!!
