The Kali demon (distinct from the other Kali
) worshipped by the Thugs was more of an actual gorgonic being that fed off the astral entrails of their murdered victims, prompting more of the same - similar to what occurred in the Mexican Mysteries.
These vampiristic Raksasha/Nephilim beings do appear as Kali with astral human skulls "decorating" their beings.
It is interesting that Dr. Steiner talked of the task of Theosophical Society as being one of overcoming these beings.
There is no choice. The protection from the influence of Ahriman by the "Christ Mystery" "will steadily diminish."
Ahriman has been cast into fetters but only for those who "endeavor unceasingly to fathom the Christ Mystery."
