I'll buy that it was to stir the soup...book sales...anything to excite those that already think the books are evil...as we all know the more they tell their parishioners not to read...the more they do!

As for the series and books being finished...I still don't buy that...not for a minute...she'd be a nut not to run this gravy train into the ground. Expect spinoff serieses: what is happening at the old school...new teachers, new students; series based on existing characters in their new wizardly life in the real world; class reunions bringing it all together....

i must have missed it cos Ive read a few harry potter books and seen the movies and I had absolutely not a clue that dumbledore was gay. I wonder if "he's the only gay in the village?????" love the Grey

Hockey's not one of my favorite sports (I'm more a Tigers fan), but of course I watch Red WIngs from time to time, and root for Kris Draper.

is the community starting to point at folks that aren't out of the closet, and don't openly display any tendencies...barely moving the needle on the gaydar, yet causing one to wonder...."Do you think he's a Dumbledore?"

Dumbledore, one that didn't get out of the closet before the book was closed.

Are folks reading back thru the pages looking for implications? I mean if her background character study included him as homosexual, it should have come out somewhere in the way she wrote, had him respond, something?

There aren't any... It's just some old woman trying to spice up and rise attention to her crappy stories...... Oh dumblebackdoor is a gay mage!!! Ron was taken advantage of as a child..... It is the Marilyn Manson complex..... Cause obscene shock and horror... Not because that is what your fans want... (well in his case they do) But because it causes protests and pertitions and news flashes and whatever else it is fuel for publicity...

lol MM during an interview was asked if he considered himself Gay or Bisexual....he said "Niether, I'm heterosexual, I've never been with a man" Howard said he'd seen him kiss men on stage, his answer was as you indicated shock value. Howard says, "But we have this picture of you with a penis in your mouth!" Manson answers...."because there was a camera there!, I'm not gay!"

Not since he left for Sirius....remember I live near DC he was on the air here in the early 80's until he got booted off for calling the airline for a ticket to the 14th street bridge (where a crash happened the day prior)...went right back on the air in New York...
