Happy Thanksgiving!

I know if that was an option open to me I would, Bob...

What do you mean? You're a British citizen. You can come over and stay anytime you want, for as long as you want. They still have "Dominion" grocery stores there. And Petrol, is the term of choice for fuel...

That's because of your shifty freaking eyes man.... Everyone has got it in for the yanks... So they have to be a bit more cautious... As for Canucks... Gotta love um! No one would be going there to cause harm.

-Edit-
OH! And not to mention You're from Detroit right?

No, he only claims Detroit...he's from the "burbs". I'm from Detroit. LOL (Lonyo and Michigan Avenue) Cass Park was my playground, as well as Point Pelee, in Lemington...God I miss Canada.

...God I miss Canada.
Driving One from one side to the other or up the AlCan solves that. You get sick and tired of seeing big sky for miles, plains on forever, alpine ranges and lake that never end, after a week or two of driving you can't stand the beauty any longer!

Of course gas prices in the Yukon, and cleaning fuel filters of the gunk, or wondering if you are going to make it to the next station, that all adds to the excitement.

Now being required to give your 1972 Dodge B200 van to the Queen, that takes the cake. I still wonder what she used if for.

Too keep to topic, Canada's Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October and predates Squanto the Wampanoag that helped the Pilgrims that was once a British slave, by 43 years.

I crossed at Niagara Falls/Buffalo about two months ago, had to show ID but that was all.
Glad to hear some of the crossings are still like that. Coming back from Toronto last summer, I thought the Blue Water bridge would be better than the Ambassador, but it was 50 minutes from Sarnia to Port Huron (almost as long as from Toronto to Sarnia, it felt like!)
I know the Canadian National anthem by heart...
OOOhhh Canada....
Hockey pucks and beer!
Oh Canada, we sort of like it here -- ay?
If Canada is so welcoming to you, why don't you stay? Mabye you'd feel better about life. Obviously America doesn't do it for you...
They want YOUNG immigrants. For somebody my age, they want to see a job offer in hand, and $10,000 in the bank. I'll work on getting to positive ten, as soon as I get back to zero from my present negative twenty.

My PARENTS live in the burbs. I do spend much of my time at my Mom's, but my apartment is 2nd and Forest right by the "Corridor". I am not "from" there, however (my parents didn't move to the area until around the time I went off to college; I didn't live there until the 90's).

Says you lol. I could get lost in the blue, and never come back, which would be just fine with me...

again copyright/trademark...you guys/gals just don't get it do ya?

It's ok. You missed when the Mich Ave trolley went from a nickel to a quarter, then disappeared all together (I think they are in Mexico city now). They tore down the Cass Ave Theater in 81. It was an opera house really. I lived in one of the actor's wardrobe rooms for a year (77) as a teen (quite cool, and cold actually). But it was home, and mine. The hookers watched out for me (the kid), and became human over time. I watched out for them too...

When my parents moved there, the buses were still labelled "Department of Street Railways", even though there were no street railways.

Those Canadians are always on top, eh?

Quick someone throw in a bible quote before the thread gets kicked... or is Thanksgiving a strictly 'Christian' event?!

Funny, I often forget to look at which forum it is in.

No Thanksgiving and giving thanks are not at all controlled by Christianity. And maybe if this was in another thread folks would pop in and say what they did/do for Thanksgiving.

But while I believe the Canadian reason for their Thanksgiving date preceded ours, our official announcement and proclamation/declaration of a national holiday that 17th does not get to lay around the shanty for...we was first in that regard.

And it was good.

Mate... I live in Devon, he lives in Detroit... (I think lol) well Michigan... There is a large distance difference.... Besides, how much I'd love to... Too much of a risk that I wouldn't be wishing to make... And many, many complications....

Evil thoughts Wil, evil.... I'd suggest you forget about that and reflect on how a poor soul such as myself needs a break..... :\
