Nice fact about Chrissie Hynde –

A friend ours, a woman, at the time the mother of a young daughter, and a percussionist, was booked to tour with Elton John in his wazzock years, and was told to neither attempt to talk to, nor even approach, Elton, without invite. He was surrounded by a coterie of what-have-yous. She hired a nanny to tour with her and look after her daughter.

It was one of her worst tour experiences, ever. (And she's toured with all the greats.)

Then she was booked to tour with the Pretenders. She explained to the management that she would be bringing her daughter.

"No problem," she was told. "Chrissie's organising a crèche for the kids."

This is a great story!
Elton sounds like he was trippin' in more ways than one.
It sounds like Chrissie had it together.

Also one of those lost in the pond moments - I had to look up wazzock and creche.
(I knew manger scenes were called creches, I assumed it meant something different in this context.)
