    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

It seems this Christian discussion of Genesis has been sent to the attic. Fortunately, this topic is being discussed in many other circles other than here. In the last days, knowledge shall be greatly increased.

    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

You have not responded to the issues I have raised, but have diverted onto another path. But I am happy to hear that you quote our Lord Jesus, in John 14:15, when He said to keep His commandments, the commandments of His Father, and irrespective of Paul, not one jot or tittle of the Law or the...

    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

Yes, this is because James, like Paul, was also quoting this verse from the Greek Septuagint (LXX) rather than the Hebrew Bible, and notice they do not match up with the Hebrew OT Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. When you examine the original...

    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

It is not too deep in the woods for any serious Bible student or beginning scholar, and I do care, and that's why I took the time to post it, and it is directly relevant to the issue of the translation of the Hebrew text of the Bible. Suggesting that I do not care is abusive. I have devoted...

Should Paul be removed from the NT?

Should Paul be removed from the NT?

The Ebionites were among the first organized groups to follow Yahshua. And, btw, this also shows that He was not entirely rejected by His own, but instead was rejected by the foreigners, the Herodians, who ruled Judaea.

    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

Mainstream theologians do not reject the simple fact that the underlying Hebrew (from which the English text is rendered) does not contain spaces or puctuation marks and is therefore liable to different translations. To get an idea of what I am saying just look at all of the translator notes...

Paul's confused logic over faith and the Law

Paul mentions a string of great old testament characters justified by faith in Hebrews chapter eleven. But did you know that in Paul’s constant confused logic, in another place said that faith did not exist until Jesus came. Galatians 3:23-25 But before faith came , we were kept under guard...

Should Paul be removed from the NT?

And the earliest Christians, the Ebionites, accepted Jesus and rejected Paul as an impostor

Should Paul be removed from the NT?

It looks like Luther was cherry picking Revelation for the verses that fit his agenda while suggesting the entire book could not be universally (or catholically) regarded as canon. Martin Luther even marginalizes the Synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke in order to assert the priamcy of...

    Paul was the first Humanist

But Paul pretended to convert to Christianity in order to subvert it from within. Paul pretends to be a Benjamite but most of the evidence suggests he was actually an Herodian Edomite. Recall his greeting to kinsman, Herodion, the "littlest Herod" in Rom 16:11 as just one example of his...

    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

As you know, the Tanakh is written in Hebrew with no punctuation marks or spaces between words, and the text in the Hebrew can be equally translated to read in the manner I have suggested. . . that Abram imputed righteousness to God for making the promises in verse 4. . . rather than the...

    Was Gen 15:6 mistranslated?

I have consulted a number of Hebrew linguists and have been told this verse could just as equally be translated as "And Abram believed, and he (Abram) imputed righteousness to God" instead of "And Abram believed, and He (God) imputed righteousness to him (Abram)".

    Paul was the first Humanist

Alright, now you're quackin', Doc !!!:) :) :) To be sure, Paul was not a humanist in any positive sense of the word.

    Paul was the first Humanist

I agree he was not an apostle, but he claimed to be an apostle of no less value than the "Super-apostles" of Jerusalem, and he had the hubris to correct Peter! As a liar, he could not be a legitimate oracle of God.

    Paul was the first Humanist

Didn't Peter say he was the one who would take the gospel to the gentiles?

Should Paul be removed from the NT?

Martin Luther wrote as if he thought that James and Revelation should be removed from the canon. So did Calvin.
