Authority of Church Leaders

Think of it as a thermometer of the current status of that group of Christians as a whole. People generally are just going to have to lighten up to make things like that stop happening, and on the way there will be many changes. There are a lot of parts to that problem. More than one bad choice had to be made for it to happen, and the solution is long term.

hopefully, eventually, the power base will shift- instead of one man in a frock ministering to the flock the flock shall minister to itself...

christianity has great potential as a vehicle for social change- christians shouldn't bother with priests- do instead what you think Christ himself might want... for me, Christ would want... to stop ppl starving to death and blowing each other up with bombs. Clothing the poor, healing the sick. That's where christians can do the most good and really follow in Jesus' footsteps...

remember- Jesus wasn't a weak sap... he didn't do as he was told just because he thought he should, or because someone he was supposed to consider an authority told him what to do... he did what he felt was right, and so should we all...
