Ego = me

Me:"So we are all schizophrenic then?:eek:"
Myself:"Nah, they got it all wrong.":p
I:" I need to get those 2 in line"

Forgive me, (or my Ego?), the room to be for once a little bit controversial. I would posit that those who are religious are bound to their ego's far more tightly than the atheist. On what grounds do I make such a statement? Simply put I propose that religious belief is itself nothing more than Ego. Every possible personal paradigm is the expression of the Ego since (a) in total honesty none of us has sufficient information to make any claim and (b) they all link straight back to what we "would like" to be true. In a sense religion as it manifests in groups is the collective "nudge-nudge, wink-wink" of complicity in allowing ego free reign. Religion panders beautifully to this, and of course it exploits it too.
The atheist does not just deny god in this light, he/she denies ego too. Subsequently it is easier for the atheist to be rational and unbiased.

See to me you have a great philosophical outlook Tao. But without a Religious system how do you expect to teach or pass your knowledge to the average folk? Maybe adding a character or superstition or 2 would make it seem more appealing and easier to remember.

And A-thiest by definition is a rejection of God. This is where I find Agnostic more appealing because they don't reject or accept God, they remain skeptical.

I do believe in God though and class myself as Agnostic thiestic.

Actually, this would be incorrect, because to reject something you have to acknowledge its existence.

disapprove: deem wrong or inappropriate; "I disapprove of her child rearing methods"

Since we can not prove or disprove God's existence rationally it is a rejection.

Right, they reject the belief.
That is much different than rejecting God itself, surely you can see that.

Atheism, as an explicit position, can be either the affirmation of the nonexistence of gods, or the rejection of belief in deities. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism

Denies the existence of any God, thought it is traditionally focused on the rejection of the Biblical God.

In schools of course. Where knowledge belongs and should be taught.

and perhaps philosophy, psychology and religion should be taught as soon as a child starts secondary school [11-12 years] so they can get a handle on all these concepts and make informed decisions furthering self undertsanding.

One should also add law to that list, as they say, ignorance is no excuse, and the prisons are being filled with ignorant people, and lawyers are profiting massively off of the ignorance of the imbeciles they "represent".
Yet the system of education sets people up for this very thing.

l agree, l am of the opinion that the young should be well versed in the laws of the land, and how to fill in tax forms etc before they leave school!!
