postmaster, you might also note that comedy, music, physics, communism and christianity are common jewish themes - the last two were invented by jews, certainly.

it could well be that we were particularly affected by the intellectual freedomn of the enlightenment so that once we got into it, we took it in some of the most interesting directions. i don't really know.

Could it be that Jewish social structure and its value of education leads to questioning, or at least thinking, outside the box and this makes diversity in thought inevitable? A competitive outlook too helps to drive innovation.

well, it is a learning culture and one that encourages open-minded enquiry; traditionally, minority opinions are preserved and safeguarded, not erased. this is, however, a deeply held religious value, which is supported by education, rather than otherwise.

ahh well I don’t know about Christianity.. It’s often said but I know my ex Jewish gf used to tell me, Jews are Gods chosen and even Jesus was a Jew. But you can either be Jewish or Christian? And Jesus was certainly Christian? Or was he a Jewish Christian aswell? I'd deffo give Jews improvments and founder of Psychology and Psychiatry aswell.

There is a multi dimensional existential vastness of knowledge which Jews have been exploring more often recently. Did this start happening in the post modernism age? Whereas in previous periods we had the likes of the Persians, Romans and Greeks were seen as the main innovators.

well, it depends what you mean by "chosen". if you look up my previous comments on the phrase "'am segulah" you will find what *i*understand it to mean, which i don't think anyone could interpret as chauvinistic.

But you can either be Jewish or Christian?
you certainly can't be both.

And Jesus was certainly Christian?
i don't know what he thought he was, but they didn't start calling his followers christians until much later on.

Or can you be a Jewish Christian aswell?
the early church (i.e. before paul ditched the law) you might be able to make an argument for, but nowadays, no way. there are those who claim to be "jewish christians", but if they're halakhically jewish, they are in fact jewish apostates and if they're not, they're christians.

I'd deffo give Jews improvments and founder of Psychology and Psychiatry though.
oh yes, freud, forgot about him.

nope. the jewish commitment to exploring this goes back at least as long as the greeks and certainly longer than the other two.
