We don't need any of the past religions to get to God.
There's been too much blood spilt, too much pain and division, and too many tears shed.
These old religions, as beautiful as they are to read the books, are NOT the answer to Gods plans and wishes.
God wants us ALL to look after each other, to start by making sure everybody is fed.
Everybody is safe in a home equal to everybody else.
Secure in a world where we all work together, directly for God, for Goodness and nothing else but Goodness.
We've got to meet each other in a common place and burn the old books of religion and move away from the traditional foolishness that has held God back from what He really wants to do for us.

One day, the whole world will join hands in love and God will bannish the Devil forever.

Okay, so we have a new guy coming in to tell us exactly what God wants us to do, apparently directly from His mouth.

Riddle me a riddle: How nicely have things worked out every other time a new guy popped up to do that?

Like religion, your childish and useless comments have taken the focus away from God, allow me to try and put it back.
God doesn't mind us arguing and debating as we iron out our differences and opinions, but we must try to encourage each other to stay within the realms of humour, patience love and tolerance.
Thank you for your reply.

Some people don't believe it's possible to make a world like the one i am talking about, i think that's because they don't know how to do it and also judge things on what's happened in the past.
I know a way to do it, i've been thinking about it for nearly thirty years, and just recently, over the past year or so i think i'm finally ready to do something about it.

Well, pup....you are a most recent new guy and you are not doing very nicely yourself, you come into a thread and start barking and growling and calling people down.
You seem a bit too cranky, but I have no idea what your life circumstances are and what induces you to behave that way.
Apparently, your christianity hasn't helped to provide a deep peace...........but enough about you.

Nice ideas, but I am not in agreement with the book burning idea.
People need to cultivate discernment so they can winnow out the scraps of truth from those texts.

Even Jesus even said that feeding the poor, looking after widows and orphans was a very noble and spiritually mature thing to do.

People are important.

I read the books myself, i study them and on a personal level i love their beauty.
The problem is that along with the books comes indoctrination for some people, which in turn is strengthened as manifest tradition, and tradition is divisive and nothing at all to do with Goodness.

I'm pleased we also agree on people being important. :)

Thank you for your reply.

This is people living by the letter of the Law instead of by the spirit of LIFE.
It is a huge problem.
You find people infected with it everywhere.
We need more paramedics to deal with the epidemic.

The indoctrination comes from the sense of belonging they feel and identification as "someone" i think. That's what makes it so hard to let go for them, how can they renounce their religion, they'll lose "everything". It must have been very hard for you to do just that. I guess you had to build a new life, something a lot of people don't even do once, never mind twice. You're the second person i've talked to this week who has given up Christianity as his religion - he was a priest and now he's an atheist. I met him last week, and now he preaches atheism instead of just shutting up and watching himself in silence.
I was going to ask him if he still met up with any of his Christian friends but i could hardly get a word in and had to leave.
Do you still see your Christian friends?
I go to Bible study twice a week, they know i'll never be a Christian but they accept me for who i am and let me study the Bible for historical and other reasons to do with love and beauty, as i also love the Gita and Qur'an and all literature of that kind, and i mix with Muslims and Hindus etc - i am who i am, and i represent freedom which they love, and that's one of the reasons they let me sit with them i think.
Just because i'm not a Christian or a Muslim doesn't mean i can't go to Mosque, Temple or Bible study.

The sense of community is a hard thing to leave.
That is what the parable about the rich man was about (partly).

I am not an atheist though......I do believe in God, but my definitions have changed a lot.

I don't judge people by their religion, in fact, I don't judge.........I let their actions prove their character. The proof is in the work.
As a tradesman that is all that counts in the end.
I have met many other trades people who thought they were god's gift and they were not shy about letting everyone know it.....very few I saw ever had their work speak as loud.

I have met pious religious people who were bitter and cruel and I have met drug addled streetpeople who would give someone the shirt off their backs to help them out.
After seeing many examples of the duality of the nature of man gave me cause to re-think many things.

In any case, it is important IMO to accept all people as family regardless of religion or race. We are all One, after all.
