Environments matter so much when it comes to us, how we feel, and our quality of life. When our environments are full of toxic people, I say toxic because some types are in fact toxic to our well being. Whether they're fearful, or angry, or jealous, or whatever just typically feels negative, then that negative energy is somehow transferred from them to us, and sometimes what we feel as empaths carries over to others also. It's about energy … positive energy and negative energy, from one side of the spectrum to the other, and the energy we pick up from others that feel a certain way.

A healthy environment is essential, happy and spiritually healthy people are our saving graces. Otherwise, and unless we find a way to "thicken our skin", or become so accustomed to such negative energy that the energy itself has less an impact on us. When I feel, I mean when I choose to consciously feel something, it becomes extremely intense. Sometimes, so intense and depending on certain variables, the feelings are required to be numbed a bit for the simple reason that some just are not able to handle that type of intensity.

Also, being bipolar I'm fairly certain that the two conditions go hand in hand. Not that its bad to be either, even though it can be. When I say hand in hand, I mean they are related to one another. Like a coin perhaps. One side natural empathy, the other side self and the struggle to find balance in the sometimes overwhelming energy of both ourselves and those around us.

When I took medication, it numbed me a good deal, but at the same time it didn't. The meds lessened the affects of the energy I could feel, and I will assume in the energy others felt also. I opted to quit taking my meds because I needed to feel more, and because I feared that one day I may not be able to afford them. Since, I've been able to level the energy …. for the most part, but there are still times when I am around such negative energy that is becomes overwhelming. The good energy I can handle … up to a point, but the intensity can be almost too pleasurable. Like I stated, those around me make a huge difference, as well as the environments I'm in.

With that said, and being that this is the science section of the board, what's the reason for this do you think?

Also, what if there are magnetic fields that when properly utilized could build a wall or a shield of sorts that could help contain the desired energy within any given range, keep the more negative energy out, and shield those around us from the intensity of energy we feel, so we can experience the type of intensity we're accustomed to, while protecting those around us? Force fields and shields and freedom to live the life we choose for ourselves sounds better than just pretty good, but pretty dang good if not great. It's possible, so why don't we?
