Jai Siya Ram
Hail Mother Sita and Lord Rama
(That is the traditional non-political greeting. The right-wing slogan is "Jai Shri Ram)
Big day for Hindus all over the world.

Rama returns to Ayodhya after 498 years (since 1528). Hindu homes have put up Rama flags. 84 second Consecration (Prana Pratishtha) at 12.30 today (Indian time, time remaining - One hour and 10 minutes). Fifteen couples from various castes and people of tribes perform the ceremony. Prime Minister Modi puts mascara in the eyes of Lord Rama idol. After that Rama is ready for boons. All temples in India will celebrate the occasion. In the evening, Hindus will have an extra Diwali lighting lamps in their homes. New religious songs have been created by singer and people have been dancing, rejoicing for the last 8 days.

Live on Youtube, just search for Prana Pratishtha.

Hi @Aupmanyav

Would you like to explain the significance of these celebrations to people from other lands than India?

Not much, unless one is interested is a Hindu, or interested in study of Hinduism. Only that Hinduism is the third largest religion of the world. with a billion adherents among the 8 billion people of the world. So approx. 12.5%.

500,000 have Ram Lala darshan on the first day after Prana Pratishtha
Photographs (devotees who were already there), and a monkey curiously looking on to see what all the hubbub is about.
Bus services to Ayodhya suspended for the moment to avoid crowding.
Appreciate what the police did. Must have been very hard on police to avoid mishaps.

Thanks. But what is the significance of the return of Rama to Ayodhya after 498 years?
There seems to be a political significance?

Both, social as well as political. It is one of the most important temples for Hinduism and one of the many which were destroyed by Muslim. This was destroyed in 1528 by General of Mughal emperor Babar. We wanted it back. Finally, after a century of litigation, Supreme Court gave a unanimous verdict in favor of Hindus. The bench had a Muslim judge also.
How will Christians feel if Notre dame was destroyed? Would they not like to rebuild it?

To me also it is important. I may be an atheist, but I am still a Hindu. I have never repudiated Hinduism. It is important to the theist Hindus.
Yes .. important to the theist Hindus..
..but why is it important to you? You don't believe in Rama, do you?
