Biblical meaning of "Christ"

Right ..

..which only goes to show how Orthodox Christianity, as we know it today, could have more
easily been manipulated by those with power at that time.

For example, we know that it started as an offshoot of Judaism, believing that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah .. something that caused controversy at the time.
Yeah, but it wasn't, as there was no such thing as 'Orthodox Christianity' at the time.

You'd have to contextualise that for me ...
In my story, a community formed around Jesus in Capernaum, practicing His teachings together under His care and guidance. After His resurrection, that community was filled with the Holy Spirit, and that's what gave Christianity the power to grow and spread and survive.

The Pentecost event, for sure ... but the core kerygma was the death and resurrection.
