I have been using colour when adding longer citations, sometimes in bold, or italic ... a few of us do it in various ways.

Does it help, or hinder? Does it annoy? Should I drop it?

Personally, I'm not a fan of putting things in quotes which are then compressed/click to expand, but that's just me.

Any favourites?

I use the dark style and i cannot read the text in color

I usually use the default colours (laziness, I guess.) There are some colours that I can't see on the background (like yellow.)

Anyone who reads my entries can see everything that I post (I hope.)

I like the color esp if it's something dark.

Some may have trouble with lighter colors. I haven't run into that yet, but then I blow my screen up several notches to make it all large and I wear my reading glasses whenever reading anything now, even on computer use, so I have been able to see the varied texts okay so far.
