Just curious if anyone here has any interest in Christianity from an historical or archaeological perspective? For example, reading about the archaeological history of Israel during the Old Testament, or perhaps the historical context of the places Paul wrote to and the early Christian faith, or perhaps even something on Jesus as an historical figure using history/archaeological approaches outside of the New Testament. Anyone read anything like this? Anything members who are particularly interested in reading? Just thought I'd ask this due to my own interest in archaeology and history in general. :)

I watch documentaries obsessively so yes im very interested in all things history culture and archaeology. Not sure what streaming services you have but one of my favorites is Before the Wrath. Hmm i think you can find it on you tube as well.

A LOT of it does. I have been very busy lately, but I was actually pondering bumping some old threads on here about some of the subjects.

The main topic I love studying is ancient Egypt and the time periods from the time of Joseph up to Moses and the Exodus.

I also find the time period just after the flood to be fascinating. The Sumerians and Mesopotamians have some interesting stories and characters who seem to mimic the story of Noah and the flood. Even the ancient Egyptians allude to the origins of their gods being a group of 8 who a strikingly similar to Noah's family.

A new study I have been looking at is the influence of the tribe of Dan on Greek history. Their original gods seem very similar to Adam and Eve's family and some of the Greek patriarchs very well may have been from the tribe of Dan.

Bible archeology and/or ancient near eastern archaeology can be very intriguing.
