The text written in the central diamond and spiraling along the interlocking outer bands reads (p. 1):

"Is there any Remover of difficulties save God? Say: Praised be God! He is God! All are His servants, and all abide by His bidding!" [1]

Historical and Spiritual Context
  • The Author: The prayer was penned by the Báb. The appended text notes the Declaration of the Báb, an event celebrating the evening of May 22, 1844, when He announced His divine mission in Shiraz, Persia (p. 1).
  • Significance: This short invocation is one of the most recognizable and widely recited prayers in the Bahá'í community worldwide. It is frequently utilized in times of intense personal hardship, distress, or collective testing.
  • Practice: Historically, Bahá'u'lláh (the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith) advised believers facing severe oppression to repeat this invocation hundreds of times to find spiritual comfort and strength. [1, 2, 3]
