There's a familiar idea in evolutionary theory - take a set of variables, applying some form of section criteria, re-apply continually - and see what you end up with.

Effectively, this attemptst o mimic the principles of natural selection, and can be applied widely - even through artistic disciplines, so it seems.

David Rea of Greenwich, Conneticut, has wriiten a program he claims will help strongs of random words evolve into poetry.

So far it's not great art by any classical sense of the term. Try this gem, for example:

You with life down the swords
How quieting tressed
Prince held by posers
Could be fight trekking

I cannot wait for the follow on from this experiment, which no doubt involves a room full of monkeys on typewriters.
