The words of the prophets
By Bobby Neal Winters
My eldest daughter was rifling around in the garage the other day and found a box that contained some of my mementos from high school. Among them, there was a folder that contained some of my old high school newspapers. In the last paper of my senior year, there was a Senior Class Prophecy that made predictions of what members of the class would be doing in the year 2000 AD, which seemed so far in the future at the time.
My friend Kevin, who worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken was supposed to become their “Head Chicken Plucker.” He’s become a superintendent of schools. (Some, most of them superintendents themselves, would fail to see much of a difference.)
