Wine is forbidden for a Muslim here on earth:

O you who believe! Strong drink and games of chance and idols and divine arrows are only an infamy of Satan's handiwork. Leave it aside that you may succeed.
-- Sura 5:90

See also Sura 2:219.

On the other hand in Paradise are rivers of wine:

A similitude of the Garden which those who keep their duty (to Allah) are promised: Therein are rivers of water unpolluted ... and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers.
-- Sura 47:15 Surely the pious will be in bliss ... their thirst will be slaked with pure wine sealed.
-- Sura 83:22,25

Is wine good or bad? Is us forbidden on earth something that is truly good? Or is in Paradise not only allowed but provided in overflowing measures (rivers of ...) something that is so bad that it is even called "Satan's handiwork"?

hmm .. well I dont know much arabic , but will try to explain

The word used in Quran for wine is " khimer " meaning "intoxicant" , also translated as strong drink .

The word used for drinks in heaven is " Sharab " meaning "drink" .

Sometimes the word "Sharaban tahoora " is also used , meaning " pure drink " , implying that the drink wont intoxicate U .

So I think there is a big difference b/w the wine on earth that will intoxicate the drinker & the wine of heaven that wont .

thanks farhan for explaining me that.sharab in urdu is also wine so i got little confused.

salam,
Farhan is right. Just something official in this regard. point #3 is what you're looking for.
Yusuf Ali's Commentary on 47:15:
In this description there are four kinds of drinks and all kinds of fruits; and the summing up of all delights in the "Forgiveness from their Lord". The four kinds of drinks are: (1) delicious, cool, pure water, not like earthly water, for it never suffers corruption; (2) milk which never turns Sour, whose taste is like that of fresh warm milk drawn from the udder; (3) wine, not like any wine on earth, for it leaves no headaches behind, and causes no intoxication, which is a kind of madness or poison, but is ever a joy to drink; and (4) honey, pure and clear, with no admixture of wax or any foreign substance. These drinks, will cool the spirit, feed the heart, warm the affections, and sweeten life.

Hope this helped.
And Allah knows best.
