"“we will be thankful, for they cause us to be martyrs. What more glorious fate is there than this, to die for the glory of God?” And the Buddha said: “Well done!”"

What passage of which sutra is he quoting?

Also, it says "Many worship idols although their teaching forbids it." Never mind that the guy can't distinguish between "worship" and "taking refuge". Is there any passage in Buddhist sutras which forbid idol worshiping. I'm quite sure vinaya pitaka says nothing of it.

Namaste vapour,

well... based on the language usage, i would have to say that it isn't a valid citation from any of the Sutta/Sutras. it would be wholly inconsistent with what has been taught with regards to deities and Anatman, in my view.

as for the worship of idols... well that's just right out :) i am fairly certain that if Buddha says that we shouldn't worship deities, then there would be little value in worshipping bits of rock or clay or whathave you :)

metta,

An interesting choice of words three paragraphs down...:
The teaching of Bahá’u’lláh constrains you to realize your brotherhood to one another.
The path IS the goal. ;)
