What music are you listening to?

How many of the OFs remember this "hit"?

In case it's taken down/blocked, the song is/was Der Kommissar by After the Fire (in case anyone's interested...)

Here's the version by the late Falco:

This might be a repost:

In case it's taken down/blocked, the song is/was Still They Ride by Journey (if anyone wants to listen to it elsewhere...)

A couple of songs posted on my LiveJournal feed:

The second song is/was I Can't Go for That by Hall and Oates, while Girl on a Billboard by Del Reeves is/was the first (in case either is blocked/taken down later on.)

I might've posted this before:

It is/was Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto (in case it's taken down/blocked, and anyone wants to listen to it.)

Another posted on my LiveJournal feed:

It is/was That's My Job by Conway Twitty (in case it's taken down/blocked.) There is/was some sound effects that might be triggering (gun salute towards the beginning...)

I'm not sure if anyone's familiar with this song:

The OFs might recognize the band, though (the Commodores.)

I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of this song/band (it's "Stoned Woman" by Mother Earth)

The OFs might recognize this band, but from a different song (the band is/was Shocking Blue of "Venus" fame)

A couple from my LiveJournal feed:

The first is Call Me by Skyy, and the second is American Dream by Ondara (in case either is taken down/blocked.)

Two more from my LiveJournal feed:

The first one is/was Shipbuilding by Elvis Costello, the second one is/was Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday (I'm not sure if any of the OFs are familiar with either one of the songs, especially the second one.) Strange Fruit is "about" the lynchings of (mostly) African American men

On Shipbuilding, the song was never a UK hit for Elvis Costello, but when the Falklands conflict broke out, Robert Wyatt did a cover version, and that is widely regarded as the definitive recording of a song with its strong anti-war message. David Bowie called it a masterpiece.
... we played this while Exocets whacked into the hulls of our faraway fleet.

Some of the OFs might recognize/remember the song from the 1970s (it's Stoned Love by The Supremes, in case it's taken down/blocked and y'all want to listen to it later...)

Another that the OFs might recognize/remember:

It's Tobacco Road by Rare Earth (in case it's taken down/blocked, and y'all want to listen to it later...)

I'm quite fond of Dan Vasc. He's a metal singer . And yet he has two renditions of classic songs that I find stellar. The best I've heard.

Amazing Grace

America's Star Spangled Banner
(He's Brazilian)

Some of the OFs might recognize either the singer and/or the song here:

In case it's taken down/blocked, it's I Walk on Gilded Splinters by Dr. John (if anyone wants to listen to it elsewhere.)
