Snoopy ture In honesty I can't but neither can he! lol Do ya get my point now, do ya SG: this has been an instigiation since post 1.....
lol @ dude. You are so zen in your approach to people, yoou really have conquered ego Oh...and from other thread I now know all you were saying about tantric sex was bollox. You know nothing about it. It is not a solo experience. tao
I do think this is a great forum that I,Brian has created and maintained. I don't have an agenda and aren't looking for a fight. I haven't posted 3000+ times to something that I don't think is basically OK. I'm just expressing my opinions as to how I think it could be made betterer. Who knows, we might get more non-Christians, (and maybe not from the US or UK) participating. You know, more interfaith, more varied... Isn't that what we all want? s.
Perhaps the solution would be to create two forum sections: One for "religions that are simple, make sense, and please most people." And another for "categories that are simple, make sense and please most people." Respectfully, Learner
On second thoughts, the Second Section could have a sub-section: Section: Categories of People (or Thought) that are simple, make sense and please most people. Sub-section: Category for those that are complicated, make no sense and offend as many people as they can.
Or simply Apologists and Truth seekers. Or Shiny Happy and The world is a mess. Or eyes closed and eyes open. Or Credulous and Incredulous. So many possibilities. tao
I probed around in my mind for other ideas and this was the first thing that came to mind: The Young and the Restless
Let it be known for the record that at least one person has left this message board specifically because of the slanted and disrespectful way that Eastern Religions forum is labeled. The Dude will no abide here.
Cheers and goodbye - it's entirely your prerogative and stay or leave as you wish, but if you're only reason for getting your knickers in a twist was the use of the word "thought" then I can only feel relieved that we lost a cantankerous moron. Just for the record, a number of Eastern "religions" are better called philosophical systems as opposed to actual religions - by their adherents. Confucians follow a moral code, Buddhists follow a path, Taoists a way, and a number of Hindus would be loathe to refer to the Sanatama Dharma as a "religion" as opposed to a way of trying to understand the universe. Hence out of respect for those persons on an Eastern path, that section is named "Thought". Many might consider it ignorantly Western to do otherwise.
Namaste all, interesting thread. i've not really said much about those sorts of things as they really are fairly inconsequential to me. that said, i have been contacted by several Eastern religious adherents asking why our section was being denigrated in such a manner and despite my own explanations they chose not to join. it was, in my opinion, quite a loss for us as they were folks whom i'd specifically asked to join given their experience in the various religions under consideration. nothing for it i suppose. metta, ~v
