Me I just read it as I feel, at the moment I am reading

psalm 23
psalm 27
psalm 46
psalm 40
proverbs 8
James 1

I may invest in a Study Bible in the future, and there is the occasional SOAP session which can be really good.
 
I must confess that I have, in the end, studied more what others have made of Scripture, than studied the Scriptures themselves. I somehow failed to be a "One Book man," but I have no real sense of having wasted my time and energy, except wish that I knew the Bible, not just better, but more deeply, as to its spiritual sense, far beyond the literal, for, always and ever, the letter works blindness and death, while the Spirit alone enlightens and opens the mind to understand TRUTH, giving life.
