My Bible seems to be missing some verses out of I Kings 5, plus they're in a different arrangement than in some other versions. I'm missing verses 19 through 27. Can somebody point out what else is going to be missing, and also if you know which ancient texts were missing these extra versions or why etc? Recommend a book? I can get the missing verses on the internet, but I'm interested to read how the deck was shuffled and what else is missing, extra, or rearranged. I heard there are various ways to arrange the passages in Judges as well.

I've checked the KJV, ASV, RSV, NRS, DBY, YLT, NIV, and the LXE. None of them have I Kings 5:19-32.

Look in 1 Kings 4:21-32 for the missing verses in those versions. Some translations make the chapter break from chapters 4 to chapters 5 after 1 Kings 4:20, and include these verses in 1 Kings 5, while others include them in 1 Kings 4. These are the verses in question that some include in 1 Kings 4, while others put into 1 Kings 5: (It's only about where they place the chapter break--no need to freak out.)
21 (E) Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines and as far as the border of Egypt. (F) They offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life. (G) 22 Solomon's provisions for one day were 150 bushels [b] of fine flour and 300 bushels [c] of meal, 23 10 fattened oxen, 20 range oxen, and 100 sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and pen-fed poultry, (H) [d] 24 for he had dominion over everything west of the Euphrates from Tiphsah to Gaza and over all the kings west of the Euphrates. He had peace on all his surrounding borders. 25 Throughout Solomon's [reign], Judah and Israel lived in safety from Dan to Beer-sheba, (I) each man under his own vine and his own fig tree. (J) 26 Solomon had 40,000 [e] stalls of horses for his chariots, and 12,000 horsemen. (K) 27 Each of those deputies for a month in turn provided food for King Solomon and for everyone who came to King Solomon's table. They neglected nothing. 28 Each man brought the barley and the straw for the chariot teams and the other horses (L) to the required place according to his assignment. [f]

Solomon's Wisdom and Literary Gifts

29 God gave Solomon wisdom, very great insight, and understanding (M) as [vast] as the sand on the seashore. 30 Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, (N) greater than all the wisdom of Egypt. (O) 31 He was wiser than anyone (P) —wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, (Q) and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol. (R) His reputation extended to all the surrounding nations. (S) 32 Solomon composed 3,000 proverbs, (T) and his songs numbered 1,005. (U) 33 He described trees, from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop growing out of the wall. He also taught about animals, birds, reptiles, and fish. 34 People came from everywhere, [sent] by every king on earth who had heard of his wisdom, to listen to Solomon's wisdom. (V)
