I actually joined this site almost a year ago. I even posted an introduction way back then. But then, as so often happens, real life got in the way and I never came back. Since then a lot has happened and my life has changed in a lot of ways. So I figured I may as well reintroduce myself.
My name is Carl, I'm happily partnered to a wonderful man, I'm an avid bookworm, and I love to cook. I've recently moved back to my home state of Texas, though still far from my hometown, and am now able to be surrounded by a loving family again.
In the last year I have reevaluated my religious beliefs and found myself veering into atheism. However I quickly found that atheism can be quite rife with utter negativity, and so I began looking for something more affirming. That's when I stumbled upon Unitarian Universalism. It led me to pantheism as the closest fit for my personal beliefs. I may not believe in anything supernatural, but I do feel awe, and a deep reverence when I study the world around me. So now, even though there are no UU congregations near me I do consider myself a UU as well as a pantheist.
In any case I look forward to being a part of this community. An active one this time. I'll see you guys around the forums.
