How Was Your Week?

Had a good week myself. Sat on my big Australian behind with my feet up the entire time! Actually I was resting up for a film project getting underway this afternoon. Should keep me busy for a fortnight or so. Catalog shoot after that, then my time's my own for the rest of the year.

I wish I could say the same. I think you might've heard about the shooting in Orlando (although I don't live there, I have friends there, plus I'm part of the LGBT+ community here in Milwaukee and part of the interfaith community in several places.)

You can read my rant on the Politics and Society portion on this site if you're interested.

I'm so jealous of you right now.:p Godspeed my friend.

Smoothest couple weeks I've had in a long time. All the things that can go awry on a big shoot makes me really appreciate when they don't.

We're not going to hear on the news about the body of some poor director washing ashore down there are we?;)
Hope not mate. I was acting director on this one. Hand-picked the crew as well. Now one of those blighter's may turn up missing. Just remember though, if that happens, it was the bloody dingos!

I wish there were animals other than dogs that can/will "inspect" apartments for bedbugs (allergies suck imho.) The entire complex was inspected Tuesday and I've suffered since. Even missed the apartment community's monthly mass "birthday party" for the tenants born in July due to my allergy.

We're under a Heat Advisory and a Heat Dome. We're doing okay without a/c, but there's enough residual a/c from the other apartments plus we have cool water up the wazoo. I hope that Steve and any other members in the Midwest are doing okay as well as their families/"families".

It's been pushing 100 hard the past few days here on the east coast. Good job I replaced my AC unit last month. My heart goes out to you and that fur coat wearing delegation of yours.

Quite hot, but fortunate to get through. Spent some time helping farmers in the field this weekend. Between the heat and the rain, it was quite an experience, but we were able to put together a lot of packages of fresh, frozen vegetables for the needy. Even sent a truckload to Milwaukee. Nothing but love for Chicago's sister city to the north :)

This week past was pretty good for me. I no longer have the last address on the planet without broadband access. Previously, the phone company said I was too far away from the disbursement point by 20 feet for DSL, and that they could offer me Fios, but because of my location they'd have to relay it along traditional phone lines and it wouldn't be much faster than dial-up. Satellite and wifi was also out of the question due to all the mature oaks on the property. The major cable provider in my area said they could do it, but wanted and extra $600 plus installation to string 200 extra yards of cable!

Come to find out, the fellow that just bought the property behind me is an installer for that very cable company. Do you see where I'm going with this? Long story short, $50 changed hands and I got an Internet cable to my door! Not only that, but it seems my county cable provider uses the same lines, but only charges about half what they do for net service. Guess which company I signed with? Next, I plan to fire the phone company!;)
