(Matthew 17:5) While he was yet speaking, look! a bright cloud overshadowed them, and, look! a voice out of the cloud, saying: "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved; listen to him."

Psalm 91:14-16

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation."

I received healing from this scripture. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes and in Him Amen to the glory of God through us.

Psalm 150:6

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

This is a healing scripture.. Imagine it... "everything" includes cells good and bad... everything submits to the Lord God Almighty.. I think everyone should think about how this effects the very world we live in and see just how small this very world is..

I guess the one right now I actually feel the strongest pull toward is .

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Sounds like one of the US Marines' cadences...:)

Hosea 13:9 “O Israel, you are destroyed,
But your help is from Me.

I was accused of being off topic in the “Christian quiz” as to how I understood Romans 9. I don’t think I was off topic. And Yes, it’s a favorite.

Psalms 51

"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according to thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly form mine iniquity, and cleanse me from mine sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin in ever before me...Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom...Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me...The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, wilt thou not despise..."

This reminds me strongly of the Lord's prayer.

Most likely because they were blind to Romans 9: 25

Sorry about that.

It kind of does, doesn't it.

The thing I like about David is that he's such a screw-up and yet honestly repents when he figures it out. And God calls him a man after his own heart.

Maybe that is because he humbled himself when appropriate and leaped and danced before the Lord when appropriate

But he never played the coward before God...you are right. He stood as a man, and would fall as a man. And he knew God is awesome.

For even the Son of man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many." mark 10;45

Hi All,

Personally I find this verse a powerful confirmation of Love and denial of fear.

Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Love in Christ,
JM

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7
Very straightforward, and very easy to forget.

This is most likley my fave quote from the bible...

"I will sweep away everything in all your land," says the LORD. "I will sweep away both people and animals alike. Even the birds of the air and the fish in the sea will die. I will reduce the wicked to heaps of rubble, along with the rest of humanity," says the LORD. "I will crush Judah and Jerusalem with my fist and destroy every last trace of their Baal worship. I will put an end to all the idolatrous priests, so that even the memory of them will disappear. For they go up to their roofs and bow to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the LORD, but then they worship Molech, too. So now I will destroy them! And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the LORD's guidance or seek my blessings." (Zephaniah 1:2-6 NLT) It goes on... but it's beautiful. :)

My favorite from the New Testament (but I don't know where it is, so please bear with me) is short, sweet, and still very true:

Jesus wept.

John 11:35

32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”
33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. 34 And He said, “Where have you laid him?”
They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.”
35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

And quit being fashioned after this system of things, but be transformed by making YOUR mind over, that YOU may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God..........Romans 12;2
