A Pastor Goes Off on Religious Bigots.

Aussie at this point I don't remember what the circumstances were at the time I made that post that I thought your input in particular would be interesting. Looking at it now, I think my thoughts were running along the line that you would disagree with the man as to his using scripture to make the particular points he was making. I was interested in an opposing point of view. You asked for a summary and I didn't have a clue how to come up with that effectively; fortunately Phyllis did a great job of coming up with one. Still it is unfortunate you cannot see it for yourself. It is like a fire and brimstone style preacher speaking, only he is arguing for inclusiveness of everyone, no matter their lifestyle choices. Quite the opposite message one would expect.

I actually had an opportunity to see a couple minutes of Rev. Ward-Harder's rant the other day. I figured as much from Phyillis' assessment though and my opinion hasn't changed. The entire argument is just foolish to me. Passing unenforceable laws serves no purpose. Nor does manipulating scripture to argue for or against. It's a no win.

Excellent! I agree it is a no win situation. Surely though someone is manipulating scripture and someone is quoting scripture properly? If both sides are manipulating scripture for their own ends, where is the truth of the scripture they quote? It is not up to individual opinion is it?
