This can be for blessings or blessons...
A blesson is a lesson that provided a blessing...or the other way round.
Today with a 5% chance of rain it just dropped ten degrees from a quick shower. It was 101 degrees in the shade an hour ago when I laid down on the porch to nap and I was just woke up shivering as.the wind blew the rain through the lattice and misted me with chilly droplets.
OK I just looked at the temp...it dropped 4 degrees...but 97 and overcast seems 10 degrees less than 101 and sunny.
The humidity did go up a few percent but it feels great with the breeze. I am on vacation without AC or swamp cooler in the desert and I am loving visiting friends from 4 decades ago. I feel at home...seeing the changes in town, finding old haunts, reminiscing about a time gone by.
That 1/4 inch of rain broke the heat streak...it will be 2 to 3 degrees cooler every day for the next week with low 60s, high 50s at night.
I left home 3 weeks ago tomorrow...been making adjustments/progress to my new normal. Got back on a bike...can't ride more than a mile or two before I wear out but it is a start...and with my increased balance and stamina (that gave me the comfort to try two wheels) I have not used a cane in a month now (I have it with me) and have not passed out in almost 6 weeks. My last cardio appt the doc said he did not need to see me for 6 months.
It was just over 4 years ago gang...and recovery is still going on. It is funny as I contemplate... how this place, juggling, rubics cube, homeworlds... have all been instrumental in my gaining strength and mobility. Now I sure don't discount my medical professionals and family and my generally positive disposition...but you all have been wonderfully helpful.
My mantra has been twofold....get stronger or die trying...and live MY life till I die. I will be over 2 months camping and 1 month traveling/couch surfing by the time I get home and the year ain't over yet!
This place, our discussions, have been a blessing for me.
Thank you.
