Footwashing coming up on Maundy Thursday and then in our church in Good Friday service the candles go out one by one for each desciple during the readings as they deny Him...And then they are all relit to signify the light that still shines...
Palm Sunday, I'd like to instigate a movement to turn it into Cloak/Coat/Garment Sunday...a time for spring cleaning and give clothes and coats to shelters. After all cloaks are mentioned 6 to 3 over palms or branches on readings about this day. Coats are spread on the donkey and on the ground as rolling out the red carpet... Seems that taking your overclothes and laying them on the ground is more significant than cutting a branch from someone elses tree...
