I believe it The Avengers. The series starred Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg (as was Honor Blackman and Linda Thorson.)

Oh, and I remember Man from U.N.C.L.E., too (Napoleon Solo was a "one-trick pony" imho [couldn't have an episode without him "making out" with a "good-looking" female, almost like the character Captain Kirk from Star Trek.) My older sister liked Napoleon Solo, though. :p

I watch very few new series any more. Stargate:Universe is a little disappointing right now, but first seasons of any show are often like that.

The only other current show I like is Top Gear :)

Now, for old shows, I'm a big fan of Babylon 5. Every time I rewatch it, I am amazed at how spiritual it was. JMS may be an atheist, but he sure does have a penchant for writing deeply spiritual episodes and remaining respectful. I only wish the TV executives had seen the genius of that show and kept funding it...

    kentauros,

You have a tv. I don't (haven't for at least seven years.) Oh, and I don't miss one.

    Hi Phyllis

Well, I would still miss the movies on TCM, IFC and even sometimes Fox Movies. Otherwise, I can always wait until things get to DVD, and then I'd still need a TV to watch them ;)

If your computer has a dvd player that works, you're covered. Heck, that's how I watch movies/tv series at home (especially those that one can't find here in the US like Brat or Torpedo Bombers, both from Russia/former Soviet Union [for a class I took on Russian history, ethnicity, and gender issues].)

I understand that, but find it to be a contradiction to say you don't own a TV yet still watch on your computer. A monitor is a monitor, whether hooked up to a satellite/cable/antenna or a computer ;)

I have both: a modest-size HDTV set and a decent flat-screen monitor for my computer. The TV is for movies, shows and DVDs. The computer is primarily for Internet, writing, image-manipulating and listening to music. Sure, I can watch DVDs on it, but as I have a nice sized TV, I'd rather put it to use for the movies and shows :)

I grew up with movies and shows; I don't think I will give them up easily. I know others can, but everyone has different priorities :)

Meh, I'd rather put all my eggs in one basket, my modest size plasma is used for everything.

Does anyone have an appreciation for Dog Whisperer? I thought I'd left Guru's behind until I met Cesar Millan, dog guru. But have now followed through and adopted him as my brother as I walk the dogs from the local Dog Rescue Centre. Any one who talks of dogs in the language of energy and the moment is worth his credentials.

I have about 5 seasons of the dog whisperer, oh and his audio book ;)

Have more than an appreciation for him, the man is amazing, not just from the insanely high level of understanding of the dog. But, his actions. Like when he goes to Mexico his home land and saves strays and also helps out there.

I have found myself a few episodes close to tears... He changes and effects so much. Oh and I constantly spam email him begging him to come here lol.

Cesar Milan rocks!! He is a brilliant man and what I have learned about being a pack leader with my two mini-dachshunds saved my marriage.:D I am both a dog and cat lover but my hubby loves cats and has always hated dogs but I have finally helped him understand them. Milan story is one of those success stories that I like to rub in the face of those in the USA who want to round up all the undocumented workers and send them back to Mexico. Yes, he jumped the border from Mexico to the USA; married an American of Mexican descent; built a successful business through hard work and determination; and became a United States Citizen through an amnesty period right before 9-11. To me, that was the beginning of this extreme American Xenophobic hatred of immigrants...We actually stoled the Southwestern United States from Mexico so I believe that turn about is fair play.

    Viva Cesar!!!

Just knew you'd like him 17th.:)
Did you know he is coming to the UK ..... I have the book too, love the part where he tells of running in the hills early in the morning with a pack of 35 and the respect formed between them of boundaries and space, none intruding on another.
By the way through the Rescue Centre I've been introduced to my first staffies, believe you have one yourself...wonderful fantastic creatures of intelligence. humour and love, and they even talk! Shows once more it's the owners who need training...... and respect is key.

I only have Staffords. (And only will ever own Staffords.) ;)

I admire how Milan brings understanding of the dog to others. I also try to emulate his actions by bringing awareness/education to others about dogs, I was quite stunned to see how clueless (from his shows) people are/can be.

My sister has offered to get me tickets to see him!! :D lol sweet.

    Viva Viva Janz. :)
I always feel the whole dog-cat thing shows a lot about life's duality.
I don't have a dog at present, but my cat's walk out with me over the fields.
