If God isn't Benevolent Should God Be Destroyed?

I watch the news every day and it seems like all I hear about is how this or that person is killed and it sometimes it makes me think there is either no God or God is not good. If God isn't a benevolent God should this entity be opposed and ultimately destroyed if it were possible?

Perhaps My team is winning?
Muwhahahahah!!!!

Sorry to say, but your team isn't winning. We currently live in the most peaceful time in human history. We have advanced the concern for our fellow man to an unheard of level. Increased compassion and equality, reduced human and animal cruelty to a point unthinkable as little as 200 years ago.

The reduction of slavery, wars, the rights provided to various ethnic groups which were ostracised, gender equality....while we have a long way to go, we've come a huge distance in a short time.

The biggest difference today over any time in the past....is our awareness....our awareness to atrocities that occur not just 100 miles away, but tens of thousands of miles away....instantly.

Life is good, but G!d doesn't intervene in the madness of man....G!d's light shines, we have but to open our eyes.

how did you work that out ?

millions of people still die of hunger, and we are destroying our planet.

slavery is still alive and well, most of us our just slaves of another kind.

As a percentage of the world there are less people dying violent deaths, less in slavery, less being abused.....

Are we perfect or rid of all 'evil'?? No....but are we at our most peaceful 50 years in history?? Yes.

None of which are during last 50 years (wil's point). WWII and the UN have had (jmo) some impact.
Now we're deciding on eras? How about this minute, is it any less or more violent than . . . this minute? What about last week? Bunch of kids got murdered in NYC, that week was a violent time, but it's over now . . . thank god

Is that how you judge your stocks? By the minute? No long range view? You sell as soon as it drops?

Yes I was talking about now....about the last 5 decades.... yes I was talking percentages of the entire population....not some statistical game of moments...

But you knew that.....playing the devil's advocate is your MO is it not?

I defend God on this one. God has a perfect alibi for not preventing violence, for giving babies brain tumours, creating disease, creating epilepsy (demonic possession, oppression of women, etc. etc. His perfect alibi is NON-EXISTENCE.

If there were a naked humanoid god sitting on a cloud over Europe with his johnson hanging out, he cannot be benevolent and omnipotent in view of the observation of nature.

Nature is just the way life on Earth evolved. Lions biting through the neck of a zebra while the pride starts eating its abdominal contents while it is still alive and screaming is not nice. Hyenas rip apart a Wildebeest while it screams in agony. Parasites eat an animal (including human animals) because they evolved that way to propagate. There is no justice in nature. There is no kindness or hatred. Nature is just a battleground of evolving animal species. We modern humans are here largely because we killed off the other nine competing Human species or excelled better at killing other animals. We gradually caused the extinction of the other nine competing human species either by murder, depriving them of hunting grounds, killing off the megafauna, and perhaps by spreading an African disease out of Africa.

Cosmic Theorists, suggest now that the entire Cosmos is like a living organism. Human Cognition is not from one neuron but billions who act together through complex circuits. Morgan Freeman on "Through the Wormhole," postulates (scientists present) using Quantum Physics and the properties of the infinitely small and infinitely large behave like a single organism. I am not sure I understand that. I only got a B+ in Quantum Physics in College. What holds it together may be the Higgs Field or "God Particle" acting like gravity or the unified field theory.

JHWY, Allah, the Deified Christ, Zeus, Jupiter, Ahura Mazda, Brahmin, Aten, Amun-Ra, Odin, Dagda, and all humanoid gods are obviously part of the human imagination. Our minds are not perfect so why would we try to invent a perfect god. Perhaps Perfection is not possible.

Do you see where you can blame god for these atrocities? Heck, we humans have gotten so good at destroying each other, one could only expect that the next step would be to try to destroy god next. (Mao and Stalin seemed to hint at this in their respective streaks of meyhem.)

It's always been the case that whatever religion moves into a seat of power the old god(s) must be killed.
