Nose hair are filters. Why should a Sikh or anybody else cut them?

In the absence of an actual practitioner:
As I understand it the body is a gift from God and everything on that body is treated as such. This is why hair is not cut and though I haven't heard anything specific concerning nose hair I doubt it would be treated differently. For those with deep conviction, awkward nose hair is a non-issue.
