It matters not. Twas their book and their story. They set the snare.
ah....that was YOU!!Of course that is true. I recognize the difference in interpretation. I merely set the stage for Paul...
Nonsense. There was a Church in Jerusalem, for a start.
Er, have you read Galatians? Chapter 1 will suffice. And it's an authentic epistle.
Don't know it by heart, but it seems I know it better than you. How much of Paul have you actually read?
"And he said to them: You are from beneath, I am from above. You are of this world, I am not of this world" John 8:23.
1 - You are aware Paul was Saul? Acts 8:3
2 - But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. Acts 9:1
3 - Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. He went to the high priest. Acts 9:13
4 - "Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. Acts 9:21
5 - All those who heard him were astonished and asked, "Isn't he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn't he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?" Acts 16:19
6 - When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. Acts 22:4
7 - I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, Acts 22:19
"'Lord,' I replied, 'these people know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you. Acts 26:10 And that is just what I did in Jerusalem. On the authority of the chief priests I put many of the Lord's people in prison, and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. 1 Corinthians 15:9
8 - For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. Galatians 1:13
9 - For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.Philippians 3:6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. 1 Timothy 1:13
10 - Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.
James 2:6
11 - But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
1 - Yes, but also that he was a former Hellenist Jew who deserted Judaism to found Christianity an anti-Jewish Church. (Acts 11:26)
2 - Paul never persecuted the church he had founded. It does not make sense to found a religion to persecute the adepts. Paul used to persecute the followers of the Sect of the Nazarenes in the synagogues of the Jews in Jerusalem and Damascus. (Acts 9:1,2)
3 - The disciples of Jesus were not Christians but Jews of the Sect of the Nazarenes. They were the ones who organized the Sect of the Nazarenes on behalf of Jesus and headquartered themselves in Jerusalem where they settled their Counsel. (Acts 15:7)
4 - Those were the Apostles of Jesus headquartered in Jerusalem aka called the Nazarenes.
5 - Yes, that's true. Paul did raise havoc in Jerusalem preaching his gospel of idolatry claiming that Jesus was the son of God which was a no no among the Jews. (Acts 9:20) Here we have Paul's confession that he did persecute those of the "New Way" aka the Nazarenes. They were not Christians.
6 - Those were the Greeks selling their idols for worshipping.
7 - "The Lord's People" were not Christians but Jews from the Sect of the Nazarenes. Jesus never even dreamed that Christianity would ever rise.
8 - That's for sure; and that's why the Apostles of Jesus rejected his request to join the Sect of the Nazarenes. (Acts 9:26)
9 - In "my previous way of life in Judaism" Paul had confessed that he was no longer a Jew but a Christian. So, he could not have persecuted the Christian Church which started with himself. (Acts 11:26)
10 - "Mercy!" The Apostles of Jesus showed him no mercy when he sought to joint the Nazarenes. (Acts 9:26)
11 - Probably here Paul was making reference to the Apostles for having rejected him as a disciple. (Acts 9:26)
