Sometimes telling others about a thing can help in learning or remembering things about it as well or strengthen ones formulations and understandings or re-affirm them.
Can you tell me all about the Baha'i faith/religion/practice?
How did you get into it, what is it as opposed to or differentiated from other things and what is it made up of or composed of thinking, reading, and performing?

I want to understand everything I can about the Baha'i faith from you and why you prefer it overall and how it distinguishes itself from Islam and the Qur'an (non-sectarian), and the sects of Iran/Persia like Shia type stuff, and Sunni and all that and what people do in a day or their daily routine and practice m and what your goals are and how you live your life and what it is like practicing this and living in New York and all the realities of it so it can be like I really know what it is like to be in your shoes or slippers or socks or whatever, even those details count to me, like wearing socks in the apartment and performing some ritual and if cleanliness taboos exist or unusual anthropological information like that as well! I am fascinated by all such things!

Part of what drew me to the Baha'i faith are the union of science and religion that they stress, as well as the equality of not just men and women, but of all peoples and religions as well.

Yeah! How much do you know about it so far and how do you practice it so far? What does it take to be one in your opinion? What does it take to not be one or to be disqualified or one could say of someone "they aren't one because they do such and such or don't do such and such"? Do you know any Baha'i people directly? There should be a few Baha'i centers and information and conversion organizations locally and online, its a pretty big and wealthy seeming organized religion. They have a beautiful building in Israel. I am in Vancouver Canada and I've seen lots of Baha'i stuff floating around here and passed by a center or building and everything.
As a matter of fact, I'm going to be visiting the Baha'i Center in NYC on Wednesday.

That will be great! When you do, I'd love to hear all about the experience.
I have been invited multiple times to go with an acquaintance to visit a Sufi center here with spinning dervishes and musicians, but I'm shy about going and have avoided it. I think I must be a pretty introverted person so I often avoid directly facing people or coming into a community gathering as an observer or outsider. I think that your going there personally and directly is a very important and useful step.
So has most of your information come from talks with someone, a book or pamphlet, or from finding out about it on the internet or what?
A combination of all of the above.

Does the Baha'i organization ask for anything? Like do they take a fee or tax or tithes from members or membership fees or anything like that?
I don't think they do, no. I shall give a more detailed answer when I go to the center, though.

Having been to the Baha'i Center today, I can now tell you, no, there is no fee/tax/tithes that is asked of in terms of membership fees.

Awesome, and feel free to describe the whole experience if possible in detail from beginning to end if you feel up to doing so, here or in a new thread as I'm extremely interested about getting a first hand inside scoop sort of experience fromthe account of all you saw and did and felt and thought and all if it! I love that sort of exploration!
