This is correct. You learn by lowering your gaze humbly, by being ashamed of being weak human and sinner. By bowing to Allah. And getting strong and you keep falling, and getting back up until nothing is undone.

Weakness, shame... that's some potent brew, I must say. At least for me, tracing that back to its source did a lot of good, even if it was painful. Jihad al-nafs, the inner struggle, is the greatest, and all that. Don't be alone. Do you have someone for companionship and guidance on this? Very important, in my opinion.
