Thinking, what was a machine a thousand years ago? A 150 years ago?
What about a hundred years from now if given the chance? A thousand from now.

Well, regarding the situation of the 7 years tribulation, or Apocalypse, you are already under surveillance, some of you from the date of your birth.
It's referred to as the UPC. For one.
It tracks your store purchases, and links it to your debit or credit card, which itself has the upc number in its strip.

The scripture verse talks about his number as 666, which itself is encoded in the classic upc, on retail products.
Including food.
Scripture states in the same chapter, Rev. 13, that no one will be able to buy or sell without the number. Which will be embedded in the person. No more cards.
Probably including GPS to track you to your exact location.
All of this to prevent whatever terrorist crimes which would probably cause all of this to happen in agreement of "the beast".
Most all will agree to it to prevent crime and terrorist actions.

Now, in the 21st century, we find ourselves in "the digital age".
Along with our present crisis situation involving climate change.
This is why Christians believe The Rapture, as we call it, will occur at the outset, although some may believe that it occurs in the middle, or at the end.
But what did the Lord say?
He said, because of the believers patience to persevere He would protect them from the trial which comes upon the whole world.

Meanwhile, the trials we are seeing are beginning evidence of what will come.
What's prophesied.

The Bees, the diminishing crops, earthquakes and the storms in diverse places.
Who knows what actions the militaries of certain governments will introduce to the future environment, approaching.

Neophyte2021, have you looked in to the situation of the NDE?
Have you considered what has happened, after the Fall of the first man?
What is the greater truth and reality, beyond this organic aspect?

However the world has been progressing technologically towards the one world community. Unlike before.
And, electronically and digitally.

And we know of the signs almost instantly, when and where they occur.
 
Well, believers have hope for the rapture, and a new world under Christ's reign.

But, I read the devil will put up a fight.

As a prophet of doom myself, the trouble here is that these signs are always in sight – every age thinks it's in the end times.

I'm not nay-saying, I think we're looking at catastrophic conditions close by, but I can offer no convincing arguments why now is the end times, and there are convincing arguments why other periods in history make ours look 'not too bad, really'.

Both prophetic and NDE scenarios speak of:
An increase of catastrophic geological activity;
An interruption of weather patterns and food supplies;
Economic collapse;
Nuclear war/accident

Trouble is, ask me to list possible extinction events, and there's not much else I can think of ...

Curiously, global epidemic did not figure in the NDE accounts according to the papers I've looked at? Perhaps they are there, disease is one of the Four Horseman, so there's plenty to suggest it ...

I reckon they will figure in more recent NDEs.

My greater fear is the failure of govts to take the necessary steps to curb temperature rise. Why? Because the general population would vote them out of office at the next election. Everybody wants the problem solved, but not at a cost to them ... I am not optimistic.

NDE accounts, although they speak of approaching tribulations, are generally optimistic – whatever happens, we are en route to an age of human brotherhood, universal love and world peace ... so 'worry not', or, as the Bible says often ... 'fear not'?

The argument is not helped by many NDEers interviewed, in the early 1980's, believed that events would unfold by the end of the decade.

There is not time in the NDE realm, so it is entirely possible that the catastrophes being seen have, in fact, already occurred – The Black Death is estimated to have killed over half of Europe's population.

So, NDEs have good reason to 'always look on the bright side of life' ... :)
 
My thoughts have been that a sudden global event, whether natural or caused by humanity, will usher in the 7 years tribulation.
At which time the "Rapture" will probably take place. Which would cause confusion about so many people being gone.
It's an unfortunate scenario, but now after we've seen the 911 attack, and other previous, it's not hard to imagine.
I recall, after there was a'lot of public discussion about the Mayan prophesies concerning year 2012, nothing occurred.
Early in 2013 however a big rock entered Russian airspace and caused a global alarm.

Which event gave no notice of it's arrival.
It hasn't been the only such event but was the most notable one.

As an afterthought, apart from the 'usual end time' scenarios, are there any NDE messages specifically warning about our current environment/ecology?

911 attack was nothing compared.to the utterly revengeful response. We sent many more Americans to their death to kill hundreds of thousands of innocents than died in the tower...but you knew that.

If there is a devilish influence anywhere it is here. We don't act Christlike.

While we look at the past in a fantasy way...if I had a choice of.past or present, I would choose a thousand years in the future and hope we as a people had found a way to live peacefully, protect our habitat, honor each other regardless of race, religion, sexual identity or preference AND given up on chicken little and the boys that cry wolf.

I sure have no interest in going back to anytime we wiped our butts with our hands and died of infection from a scratch and barber's pulled teeth...lol. Romanticize all you want, I ain't giving up my bidet.

Well, Indians still think that it is the best way, that is what the left hand is for. Right hand for worship, hand-shakes and eating. Of course, all sorts of jets and soaps are available. There was no rush for tissue paper in India at any stage of Covid as it happened in the US. My son is a toilet roll devotee.
