Canine Cognition

The article above says some studies have led researchers to conclude that some dog breeds process information similarly to humans.

What if any implications can this have for the future? Dogs interacting with AI to get more insight into canine cognition? Animal rights?

I think in general we have no clue how intelligent animals, plants, and fungus are... intelligent might not be the right word, but processing, problem solving, communication working in concert with other of their own species and other species for survival and thrival.

It may even be there is more to crystals and rocks that we know... (anyone else build a crystal radio as a kid?)

Animal rights?
Some societies i believe will soon be adding octopus to dog and cat as things they wont eat...but humans are weird, pigs have shown more cognitive abilities than most....but bacon...

This article suggests some dog breeds process information similarly to humans.
We have two miniature dachshunds, they do exactly what they want and if given the chance will challenge bigger dogs.... They rule our home.

They are very smart indeed; at this time we have to treat and bandage a very large sebaceous cyst on the flank of our older daxie twice a day and she doesn't like it when the used bandage is removed from the wound, and so prior to 'bandage' time she will hide somewhere. After we have found her she will forsake that place and chose another, sneakier, refuge. I had no idea how many refuges are in our little home!

I have it on infallible authority - the cat that shares my home - that dogs..all dogs...are as thick as two short planks.

I think it is right that we are the most intelligent animals. We are profiting from that and we are very conceited. We like to define that the value of a being is in fact defined by it's intelligence because this would justify that we are the most valuable creatures.
But actually, the earthworm is the most valuable animal. Eating dead plant material, it doesn't do harm to any plants or animals, and it contributes to the fertility of the ground.
And without plants, life would be restricted to those few places in the sea where some special chemicals come out of the ground.
