Apologies for the downtime

I'm really sorry about the downtime again - there was a critical error with the database which saw one of the main tables disappear, so I had to fix this by uploading a backup copy I'd made to the server, and then waiting (too long!) for the webhost to move it to the database server.

This really isn't acceptable, so if there are any further issues, I'll look to move to new webhost.

So, my apologies again for the downtime, and if there are further issues I'll post updates on what's happening the frontpage of interfaith.org.

Somehow I see this as indicative of our world today.

Of the things our world needs, compassion, patience, and acceptance of what is....

Surely this doesn't fit the realm of unacceptable. It almost (to me) feels like a lesson in developing understanding that I and my frivolous needs for discussion are not hindered by a momentary collapse in data.

Would worldwide failure of GPS be unacceptable? Or just a simple change back to printing maps. Oh we could surely make anything horrific and important.

Both you and the site are appreciated...being up or down...as the contemplation of reality, what we treasure, what we elevate is to be considered.

What did I think when the site went down? The number of people I may lose connection wjth....and that was unacceptable.

Cake!

And the forums have managed to stay up for 2 days, which is good. :)

Latest phone to replace my departed Pixel 4 is a Fairphone 6 running the Murena OS, which means I can bask in ethical smugness, über-smugness knowing that nothing gets fed back to Google and the like, while coasting just behind the curve with regard to functionality ... you can't win them all.

Most annoying is the OS doesn't support Low Energy Bluetooth, which is the industry standard for hearing aids, so I can't listen to nonsense off the phone without resorting to cans... upside is I waste far less time in Instagram!
