Is tribalism good for humanity?

As someone whose culture was almost entirely systematically destroyed by invading tribes, I struggle to see any positives to tribalism myself, but I'm open to being convinced.

No offence, but this is pretty much the norm. We have all been shaped by it over thousands of years.

I'm simply observing history.

I think the problem is you want us to discuss something - but you haven't actually given us anything specific to discuss.

Your discussion title is "A vicious, scathing, biased and highly targeted attack on tribalism!" but then your post just mentioned invading tribes.

Perhaps you could expand on what you want to say?

My interest was sparked by this:

It has become problematic because leftists have demonized the notion of tribe, blaming all of the earth's woes on tribalism. It's a modern version of cultural imperialism

Which made me wonder what reasons people might have to see tribalism as a good thing.

The person who made the above post seems unwilling or unable to discuss it further, so I've thrown the question open.

Incidentally, I've haven't personally heard a politician, leftist or otherwise, discuss tribalism since the football violence in the 80s.
