Gardener's Special Platter from Gooseberry Patch cookbook/Lisa Miller
I guess Gooseberry Patch was just the name of the cookbook. For some reason, I thought the vegetable platter was going to have a gooseberry sauce or glaze. That might be tasty.😋

EDIT: I guess gooseberry plants are illegal in some states in the US to protect local ecosytems, because the plants can carry some kind of pine blight

EDIT: I guess gooseberry sauce is usually used for "oily fish" like mackerel🐟

An autumn "receipt"?

Is anyone interested in it (I'm not due to allergies, plus I live alone with :kitty:s, and they probably would turn their noses up at the meat...) The "receipt" is for an apple cider roast beef (in case the video's taken down...)

This "receipt" is to make up for the meat one (liquor substitutions are mentioned [use equal amounts IIRC]):

Y'all might enjoy this (was posted on my LiveJournal feed):
J.D. Salinger popcorn salt

Ingredients:
6 tsps sea salt
2 tsps paprika
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp celery powder
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp marjoram
1/2 tsp curry
1/2 tsp dill powder

This is definitely going to have a bit of a kick to it! For me, I'm going to leave out the dill powder: I just don't care much for the taste of dill. You might also want to process this in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle as the thyme and marjoram can be on the large/leafy side if you want things down to a more uniform consistency.
