I would like to introduce myself. I am called McCravey. I am a recent Gnostic (for the last four years) and look forward to what I can learn from this site.

:)

Hi there and welcome. I dont know a lot about Gnostic beliefs and look forward to reading your views with interest. :)

Hello. I'm glad to be here. I hope to learn from the many interesting topics discussed in this forum.

Hello!

I would like to correct myself by saying that rather than being a Gnostic, I have experienced gnosis. There seems to be a difference. But then, both are just words that probably lead to misunderstanding.

The reason I chose this forum is my path has taken a turn into mysticism and I need help understanding what I am experiencing.....many Gnostics were mystics.

I come from a deeply religious and Orthodox background and I need all the help I can get.

wonderful .... I was just thinking the other day about whether or not we had any Gnostics or Mystics on the forum .... it would be interesting to have a section that combines gnosticism, mysticism, and the kaballist views .... they are all linked to the same ancient path .... welcome, pohaikawahine

Hello McCravey,

I realise that this is quite an old thread in a busy forum such as this one, but i'm wondering just what gnosis you experienced - and what you perceive Gnosticism to be.

For instance, as you come from "a deeply religious and Orthodox background", it may come as quite a surprise to realise that the Christian God (Yahweh/Jehovah) is not the Father of the Christ - in the Gnostic view. Rather - the opposite.

I'd welcome your experience of gnosis - if you'd care to share it.

Regards,

malcolm
