Okay, nothing sinister in this, btw, despite it's rather depressing theme!
On December 2nd 2006, the man below died, through illness.
Here is his memorium (avaiable online, so free info)

Treasured memories of Donald, who died 2nd December 2006 a dearly loved husband and dad. I do not need a special day, To bring you to my mind, For days without a thought of you, Are impossible to find. Love Ellen, Angela, Elaine, Gillian. and grandchildren.
Now, what I can tell you is that he lived in the town of Alloa, in Scotland.
The local paper, Alloa Advertiser, carried a short obit, however, they left out one crucial detail, his middle name.
Find the middle name, and the (genuine) prize is yours.
