THE QUR'AN SAYS THAT ALLAH GAVE THE LAND OF ISRAEL TO THE JEWS
AND WILL RESTORE THEM TO IT AT THE END OF DAYS

"To Moses We [Allah] gave nine clear signs. Ask the Israelites how he [Moses] first appeared amongst them. Pharoah said to him: 'Moses, I can see that you are bewitched.' 'You know full well,' he [Moses] replied, 'that none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth has revealed these visible signs. Pharoah, you are doomed.'"

"Pharoah sought to scare them [the Israelites] out of the land [of Israel]: but We [Allah] drowned him [Pharoah] together with all who were with him. Then We [Allah] said to the Israelites: 'Dwell in this land [the Land of Israel]. When the promise of the hereafter [End of Days] comes to be fulfilled, We [Allah] shall assemble you [the Israelites] all together [in the Land of Israel]."

MashAllah, that was a good topical post sister, and inshAllah by the help of Allah I will try and explain some things of it so hopefully no-one will misunderstand it, essepcially given these troubled times

Out of a few tafsirs and translations, only one seemed to indicate that the view you have posted above may be one of the opinions held by Muslims; I also heard a 'religious' Muslim opine simmilarly which further corraborates that this could be one of the accepted Islamic views; the others seemed to indicate that this 'gathering' of the Jews that is mentioned in that verse is reffering to the gathering of the Day of judgement:

17:103Then he (Pharaoh) tried to harass them to drive them out of the land, so We drowned him and those with him altogether,

17:104and thereafter We said to the children of Isra‘il, .Live in the land. So, when the appointed time of the Hereafter will come, We shall bring you all joined together..

(And We said to the Children of Israel after him: "Dwell in the land, then, when the final and the last promise comes near, We shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd.'') meaning, all of you, you and your enemies. Ibn `Abbas, Qatadah and Ad-Dahhak said, "It means all together.''

Tafsir.com Tafsir Ibn Kathir

(And We said unto the Children of Israel after him) after his destruction: (Dwell in the land) the land of Jordan and Palestine; (but when the promise of the Hereafter) when resurrection after death; and it is also said that this means: when Jesus son of Mary descends (cometh to pass we shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations.)

Now there are two aspects to be taken into consideration here; one is that even if it [the gathering of the jews] should refer to before the last day, then it is just a reference to what Allah has in store for the jews in the latter days as everything happens by Allah's command and detetrmination; it does not mean that it is right for the Jews to occupy Palestine.

Allah says in the Quran that the persecution of the Jews at the hands of the Pharoan, was from Him [as a trial for them], but that dont mean it was right for the Pharaon to persecute the Jews does it?; so this is an example of how everything happens by the will of Allah, but that dont mean it is right for the people to commit injustices

I think what the ayat about Israel stands for is for us Muslims to remember that Jerusalem is not our Kibblah (spelling?) and that some of us should not be believing/saying that Israel as a nation should be wiped off from the face of the Earth (i.e. Ahmadinajhad).
Jews and Christians have a lot of reasons to claim the region of Israel and Palestine, because for them it is the craddle of their faith. For us Muslims, we have our Kibblah in Mecca. Even though our religion is universal and has existed with other Prophets pbut way before Muhammad savs even got born, we must acknowledge the relationship Jews and Christians have with the region of Israel and Palestine.
But, it is not right for Israel to commit war crimes against humanity. Palestinians who have lived in the holy land area are just people who were born there and had lived there all their lives when the state of Israel was reborn in our time.
Current Israeli and Palestinian war is a test for both people. First for Jews, because they were victims of a terrible Holocaust in WWII and now seem to be committing crimes they escaped from. For Palestinians, because they need to acknowledge that the People of the Book also should live next to them, in the same land. Also, to keep to the islamic principles and avoid provoking miliatry engagements/breaking truces first (because Muslims should keep to the agreements they make).

NO. whatever you may legitimately criticise the israelis for (and, frankly, they deserve some quite severe criticism) they are not rounding up palestinians and taking them away to slave labour camps where they are butchered one by one, gassed and cremated. that is a pretty big difference and if you can't see it you are misrepresenting the basis of the conflict. nazis wanted to exterminate the jews as a subhuman race. the israelis want (aside from a few nutjobs) to co-exist with the palestinians, not eliminate them. i keep saying this over and over again and i have no reason whatsoever to lie to you.

Muslims were not prevented any human being to practice their religion on the land of Palestine.
During the Islamic government ... It was always the people of the book living with the Muslims in peace and tolerance in Jerusalem.​

Muslims established and practiced the most tolerant multi-religious and multi-faith character of Jerusalem.....more here​


Jerusalem and its surrounding territory were and remain holy to Muslims, Christians and Jews. It was during the Caliphate of Omar ibn al-Khattab (634-635) that Muslims first gained leadership of this territory. May Allah be pleased with Omar.
The Muslim reaction to this victory is something to remember.
Omar entered Jerusalem in humility. He walked in with not he, the Caliph, but his servant comfortably riding on a camel. They had been taking turns walking and riding.
At one point in Jerusalem, the Christians asked him to pray in their church but he declined. He refused saying that he is afraid that in the future Muslims could use it as an excuse to take over the Church for building a Masjid.
The Christians gave the key of the Church of Resurrection to Muslims to be responsible for its safety. This key is still with the Muslims today as a sign and symbol of the mutual trust.

The Covenant of Omar to inhabitants of Aelia

Caliph Omar issued the safeguard covenant to the inhabitants of Al-Quds (Al-Ohdah Al-Omariya), which proves the tolerance of the Islam religion with the Christian communities...

In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the Compassionate this is the security accorded by the servant of Allah, Omar, to the inhabitants of Aelia (the people of Jerusalem), to all of them without distinction, be they well disposed or ill disposed. He guarantees to them the security of their persons, possessions, churches and whatever relates to their cult. Their churches will not be transformed into dwelling houses nor will they be destroyed, nor will anything be taken from the churches or the ground on which they stand or the crosses and possessions of the inhabitants. They will not be constrained in their religion and none of them will be troubled or hurt, no Jews whatever will live in Aelia with the Christians. The inhabitants of Aelia will pay Jizia (poll tax) like those of other towns, the Byzantines and brigands shall leave the town, those of them who leave the city will be given safe conduct for themselves and their possessions until they reach a safe place, but those of them who prefer to remain are also secure, but they have to pay the same poll tax as the inhabitants of Aelia. Those inhabitants of Aelia who desire to accompany the Byzantines leaving their chapels and crosses behind will enjoy the same safe conduct until they reach a safe place, the peasants in town may remain there on condition that they pay the same poll tax as the inhabitants of Aelia if they desire they may leave with the Byzantines or return to their families, they will not be required to pay any thing before the harvesting of the next crop. He asks Allah to witness that he will guarantee to them every thing contained in this covenant. He promises them the protection of the apostle of Allah, his caliphs, and the faithful, if they pay the required poll tax​

This is a great thread for Palestine.

All Palestinians should give up fighting and become Israeli. Then the ones who are bombing all of a sudden need to protect and take care of the people they bombed. Couldn`t get any better.

About the only thing Hamas is doing; the aftermath, you`d wonder if they work for Israel.

p.s. fyi, I`m only half serious with regards to this. And I also assume Israel is going to keep their word that they want to live in peace like in any first world country, if Palestine joins them.

To tell you all the truth, I was extremely angry with Israel about the most recent attrocity against the Palestinians. I agree that having rockets slam your cities, homes, school is AWFUL, HORRIBLE, MURDEROUS--but the reaction that Palestinian civilians received from Israel is disproportionate (spelling?). No child (Muslim, Jewish, Christian, etc) deserves to be killed. Livining under the occupation is not pretty. I survived some of it in Bosnia. You not only hardly have any freedom, but you are treated as less than human. Fine, you can follow another's law as long as it does not demand of you to be treated to the level of an animal (no respect to animals, by the way). But you know what I mean.
Yes, Palestinians are not taken to gas chambers, but it seems that to certain Israelis even Palestinian children are terrorists or Hamas. :(
