The Greater Love

Of all the different kind of loves, Parental Love is the greater love.
As we see in John 3:16 "God so love the world that he gave his only son..."

Such love is unconditional.

It is the love God wants us to experience by allowing us to pro-create our own chidlren and to become a parent like Him.

It allows us to grow our heart

Luke 11

11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

A friend of mine recently quoted an old saying that one becomes a better son (or daughter) upon becoming a parent!

If we reference our own parenting experiences, I don't think we get much of a sense for unconditional love. In fact, many of us spend our entire lives trying to please our parents.

The Heavenly Father has expectations, too.

This is the first comment that Soleil has made, since I have been in this forum, which I understand.

More amazingly, I agree with it.

So I guess some ideas are so foundation, so profound, that they resonate even at great distances.

I suppose that is the potential of interfaith dialogue :).
